Really!?

Sometimes I get my dander fluffed a tad. Anger is never a pretty emotion and I really don't like to write about it...I think I may have figured a way to discuss it with a lesson. So here goes:

I hear things like, "You post too much of your life on facebook" "Facebook isn't the place for that" "You are always on facebook"... Here's my response. I write on facebook because my friends and family are there. I don't post money, I don't post ugly, I'm not political, I don't argue. I express myself. I share my experiences and my emotions to help myself and to help my friends. I share my love of crochet because I need to let people see love. There is nothing greater here on this planet but sharing love it multiplies toward yourself, too. A boomerang gift! Oh and it looks like I'm ALWAYS on because I'm mobile.

So...the snarky me says how would you know if you weren't lurking on my page? Did my status update affect your breathing? The real me says, I really hope that my experiences, hopes, fears, dreams, emotions help you (Dear Reader) to live a happier, more blessed, life. And sometimes I REALLY need to hear how you handled it or know someone is loving me through a tough time.

So the next time someone fluffs my dander about my time on social media, I think I will share a prayer of understanding and a hope that they find someone to trust with their emotions instead of playing the perfection game. Shoot my bestest friends are on there and sometimes I need that Californian and that Pennsylvanian and that across the state Tennessean and we can't afford the ticket for a face to face. ;) besides fairy wishes are the dander of dandelions!

  1. I'm with you! I left my friends and family behind 2 years ago. Without FB I would be much more out of touch, and I've made NEW friends there too. Hint: you can't make friends unless you share some of who you really are, personal life and all.

  2. Please don't stop posting about your life on FB. I enjoy reading about it and whoever has a problem with it, can make it so they don't get as much of your stuff on THEIR FB page.

  5. Back surgery laid me up 2 1/2 years ago and without my little laptop and Facebook, I would be one sorry mess by now. They have allowed me to stay in touch with family and friends, and I've found new friends and chat with folks every day, which would otherwise be impossible. So for folks who say they don't have time for social media and we shouldn't be on here so much, I say, "Good for you! Thank God you can get out and about! For some of us, though, it's a life saver, and keeps us from focusing on ourselves and our problems, and opens up our world to include others."

    1. Oh my sweet friend! I get it and yay to the people who can get out. My whole goal for this life is to add a smile, a dream, a hug to someone who might just need it. <3

  6. I would be seriously worried about you if I didn't see you on Facebook or have you by phone or text!
As the "Californian", I am so grateful God brought us together through this medium in order to have become friends for life.
You are truly a strong woman Sweet Pea & I can say you & your posts, your knotting, your joy, your pain & your everything in between have been a blessing in my life & I could not do without them.

    1. Wow! Just wow! Honey Bunny this girlie is not changing her ways, have no fear. I used to bottle my emotions and store them away for a quiet alone moment...hence nervous breakdown. I gotta talk I gotta share it is as big a part of me as breathing. I reiterate...if someone doesn't like, I offend your sense of self please feel free to unfriend or restrict me. Not you Michelle, you are stuck for life! <3

  7. So I read your blog post (via email) and then clicked the next email and was this perfectly timed quote from Martha Beck. So I'll just leave this here...

"Today, remember that what you perceive as prudent social caution is probably limiting your life to about half its natural capacity; that if you did everything you long to do twice as often, twice as boldly, twice as openly, you wouldn't attract a shred more social pressure than you already think you're getting." -- Martha Beck

  8. I commented earlier but was on my Ipod and sometimes it's temperamental. There will always be those who like to spread their negativity to others in hopes that it will cause in infestation and bring people down. You my dear lady are an inspiration and I could never imagine not seeing post from you spreading love and light. Without FB or internet I would not have met some of the lovely people that I have been blessed to come in contact with, you being one of those people. Let the negative Nancy's have their moment because that's all it is a moment and pray that through your posts they will find the inspiration to change. Love you loads<3

  9. This Pennsylvanian is extremely blessed to be counted among your friends dear one. I know I don't comment back as often as I should to let you know that I am indeed reading and loving and praying for everything that is my Pammy-cakes, but I am indeed reading and loving and praying! I feel privileged to be entrusted with your 'full monty' and, like Michelle, begin to worry if I don't see something from you! Much love, many prayers, always.

    1. Dear Cara, one doesn't always have to comment to be heard or felt. My beloved friends are always in my prayers and thoughts, even when I am being quiet. I can't be a fake person...I refuse to pretend I'm something I'm not. I find people whose biggest Fb concern is what they're eating for breakfast. Do they have a life? What's really going on? Or those open ended statuses! OMCrochet...I delete them.I love you darling and thanks for keeping it real! ~pam
